DRAFT FOR BUSINESS AND LEGAL APPROVAL · Effective upon formal publication and Partner acceptance
Our goal is to give your clients a reliable next step for home services. These terms explain how the referral program works, how rewards are verified, and the responsibilities of participating real estate professionals.
1. About the Program
These BrokerBee Referral Partner Terms (the “Terms”) govern participation in the BrokerBee Realtor Referral Partner Program (the “Program”). “BrokerBee,” “we,” and “us” refer to the business operating the Program through BrokerBee.com. A “Partner” is an approved realtor, real estate licensee, or brokerage participating in the Program.
The Program is intended to help real estate professionals provide clients with a clear starting point for home maintenance, repairs, and improvement requests. Referral compensation is a secondary benefit, not a guarantee of earnings. Participation is subject to these Terms and applicable law.
2. Enrollment and Eligibility
To apply, submit accurate contact, brokerage, market, and requested license information. We may verify your eligibility, licensing or brokerage affiliation, and any required authorization before approving an application and issuing a referral code.
You must be permitted by your employing or supervising broker, brokerage policies, professional obligations, and applicable law to participate in and receive compensation from the Program. BrokerBee may decline or suspend enrollment when an applicant is ineligible or when additional compliance information is needed. Applying does not guarantee approval or payment.
3. Referral Code and Client Attribution
Approved Partners receive a unique referral code or other tracking method. Share it only through accurate, appropriate client communications. The client should enter the code or identify the referring Partner when submitting a service request. An introduction is not automatically a payable referral.
We attribute referrals using available request records, the code or named referrer provided by the client, and other reasonable verification. If the same client is connected to more than one Partner, or the referral cannot be verified, we may request supporting information and determine attribution in good faith. We will not intentionally pay duplicate rewards for the same qualifying service event.
If your code is missing or applied incorrectly, contact [email protected] promptly with the relevant request details. We cannot guarantee retroactive attribution if we cannot reasonably verify the referral.
4. Eligible Services and Qualifying Jobs
Eligible service categories may include handyman work, plumbing, heating and cooling, maintenance, home improvements, move-in projects, inspection-related repairs, and pre-listing preparation when the particular referral and payment are lawful.
A “Completed, Paid Service” means a service request BrokerBee has confirmed as completed and for which BrokerBee has received the applicable payment from the vendor or customer. Quotes, estimates, scheduled appointments, cancellations, unpaid jobs, and unverified work do not qualify.
A job qualifies for a reward only when BrokerBee verifies (a) a properly attributable referral, (b) completed, paid work, (c) applicable program criteria, and (d) that the payment is legally permissible. BrokerBee may exclude fraudulent, self-referred, duplicate, reversed, or noncompliant transactions.
5. Referral Reward Amounts
First service: $50 when a referred client completes their first qualifying BrokerBee service attributed to the Partner.
Additional services: An additional $50 for each later qualifying Tier 2 or higher service that same referred client completes.
Tier 2: Completed, paid work totaling $500 or more for the qualifying service request, as verified in BrokerBee’s records. Multiple unrelated requests are not automatically combined to meet the threshold.
All rewards are in U.S. dollars, subject to verification, lawful eligibility, and these Terms. Reward amounts are not earned merely because a client submits a request or receives a quote.
6. Payment Timing, Adjustments, and Taxes
BrokerBee issues an eligible referral payment only after confirming the job is complete and receiving payment from the vendor or customer. Payment timing and method will be communicated through the approved Partner’s onboarding or account communications. No payment is due before these conditions have been met.
If a job is cancelled, unpaid, refunded, reversed, or later found to be ineligible, no reward is due; an already credited reward may be adjusted or offset against future payments to the extent permitted by law. We will provide a reasonable explanation of a disputed adjustment on request.
Partners are responsible for their own tax reporting and any taxes associated with rewards. We may request tax or payment information reasonably necessary to make lawful payments. Payments will not be issued if required information or approvals have not been provided.
7. Client Disclosure and Brokerage Requirements
Before or when recommending BrokerBee, you must clearly disclose any financial benefit or referral payment you or your brokerage may receive, and obtain any client knowledge, consent, written disclosure, or brokerage approval required by applicable law, professional standards, or brokerage policy.
Suggested plain-language disclosure: “BrokerBee may pay me or my brokerage a referral reward if you use a qualifying paid service. You’re free to choose any service provider.” This sample is not a substitute for legally required brokerage forms or disclosures.
You may not suggest a client is required to use BrokerBee, make a referral based on an undisclosed conflict of interest, or represent that your recommendation is independent if you have not disclosed the financial connection.
8. Settlement-Service and Other Legal Restrictions
This Program is intended for lawful referrals of home-service work. It does not authorize compensation for referrals of mortgage or real estate settlement services where prohibited under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Regulation X, state real estate laws, or other rules.
A service described as an inspection repair, pre-listing project, or move-in project is not automatically eligible merely because it appears on the site. Referral payments involving a real estate transaction or federally related mortgage may require individual compliance review. Where a referral payment is prohibited, no reward is due, regardless of code tracking or job completion.
Partners must comply with all applicable professional rules, including requirements of their licensing jurisdiction and brokerage. BrokerBee may decline or withhold a reward pending a good-faith legal or regulatory review.
9. Your Communications and Conduct
Describe BrokerBee and the Program accurately. Do not guarantee vendor availability, workmanship, pricing, completion deadlines, earnings, or results. Do not misrepresent your relationship with BrokerBee, use misleading advertising, or make unsolicited communications in violation of applicable privacy, telemarketing, email, or text-message laws.
Share client information only when you have the right and appropriate permission to do so. Encourage clients to submit requests directly and review BrokerBee’s published privacy information. Do not upload sensitive client or transaction documents unless reasonably necessary and authorized.
10. BrokerBee’s Role and Client Choice
BrokerBee helps receive and coordinate home-service requests through its vendor network. Specific service availability, scope, scheduling, pricing, and performance depend on the request and the professionals performing the work. A Partner is not responsible for performing the work merely by making a referral, and is not authorized to promise service terms on BrokerBee’s behalf.
Clients remain free to choose their service providers. No customer is required to use BrokerBee to work with a realtor or brokerage.
11. Records, Questions, and Disputes
BrokerBee may maintain reasonable records of partner codes, attributed clients, job status, payment confirmation, and rewards for Program administration. If you believe a qualifying reward or referral was missed, email [email protected] with the client or request reference and relevant supporting details, without sending unnecessary sensitive personal information.
We will review disputes in good faith using reasonably available records and explain the outcome. A pending dispute does not make an otherwise unverified or legally restricted reward payable.
12. Changes, Suspension, and Ending Participation
BrokerBee may update Program terms or reward amounts prospectively and will provide notice of material changes through the website, email, or Partner communications. Changes will not retroactively reduce rewards already earned under the terms applicable when the qualifying work was completed, except to correct errors, fraud, chargebacks, or legally prohibited payments.
Either party may end participation by giving notice. BrokerBee may suspend or terminate participation for material violations, misuse of codes, fraudulent activity, or legal and regulatory concerns. Eligibility of outstanding referrals after termination will be evaluated under the terms applicable when the referrals and qualifying jobs occurred, subject to payment verification and law.
13. No Employment or Guaranteed Income
Participation does not create an employment, partnership, joint venture, franchise, or agency relationship between BrokerBee and a Partner. No minimum amount of referrals, client work, compensation, or future income is promised. Partners remain responsible for their own business and professional obligations.
14. Contact and Acceptance
Questions about the Program, a referral, or a proposed payment can be sent to [email protected].
By checking the agreement box and submitting a completed application through a live, connected signup form, you acknowledge that you have read these Terms and agree to comply with them, subject to approval for participation. The live signup process must retain an auditable record of the version accepted, timestamp, and Partner identity.
